Ace cinematographer RNK Prasad passed away at his residence in Adyar last evening. He is survived by his son Rajiv Prasad, daughter Rathnamala and wife Usha Prasad. RNK Prasad has acted in a couple of Kamal Haasan starrers like Nayagan and Michael Madhana Kama Rajan. He has also directed a Kannada film Naguva Hoovu.

RNK Prasad has penned a book on cinematography and it is followed by the universities in teaching cinematography to the students even today.
