Siruthai
is out of the jungle and is ready to entertain
us. We can see Karthi in a dual role in
the movie while Tamannah will be his love
interest. The movie has been produced
by KE Gnanavel Raja and is directed by
Siva. Music for Siruthai has been scored
by Vidyasagar. The audio of Siruthai was
launched recently and let us see what
Vidyasagar has in store for us.

Naan Romba Romba...
Vocals: Ranjith, Chorus
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar
This is the Rocket Raja exclusive! Ranjith sings for
one of the Siruthais, who is self-aggrandizing about
himself. A usual introduction song for the hero! Na.
Muthukumar's lyrics like "sollurathellam suthamana
poi... vekkurathu ellam pocket la kai" reveal
the character as much as possible. Must be a strong
favourite among Karthi's fans!
Chellam Vada Chellam...
Vocals: Udit Narayan, Surmukhi, Roshan
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar
A short romantic number, Chellam Vada chellam has
neat and simple beats as the base arrangement. With
Roshan's rap-like interludes, Udit Narayan and Surmukhi
deliver a poesy number. When we just think that the
song will lose track in the second part, Vidyasagar
makes sure that it does not slip away. A worthy listen!
Azhagha Poranthuputa...
Vocals: Malathy Laxman, Priyadharshini
Lyrics: Viveka
A very different beginning to the song but don’t
be fooled, as the song has a lot more to offer. This
song is about the heroine raving about his 'man'.
The beats and the voice remind us of yester-year village
songs where the heroine sings praises of her fiance.
The song may appeal more when we see a brisk Karthi
on the screen!
Thalattu...
Vocals: Srivardhini
Lyrics: Arivumathy
Srivardhini sings a delightful Thalattu. Though there
is nothing new about the song itself, it is a refreshing
listen. A peaceful song considering what is to come
next.
Adi
Rakkamma Rakku...
Vocals: Ranjith, Suchitra, Roshans
Lyrics: Pa. Vijay
Ranjith is back with Rakkamma Rakku. A cheerful and
energetic song! Suchitra gives the song what it requires:
zest. A folk arrangement with synthesised music (the
trend nowadays) makes the song an interesting listen.
If slipped in at the right moment in the movie, the
song is sure to create ruckus in movie halls.
Verdict:
A surprisingly short album, the total time adding
up to less than 20 minutes, Siruthai emphasizes the
fact that it is a commercial entertainer. This may
not be Vidyasagar's best album but he has given what
the movie requires: A crisp album with short and sweet
songs. The songs also have impressions of earlier
hits, but Vidyasagar has cleverly given a new look
and feel to each of them. Overall, Siruthai is a worthy
listen to and must appeal to Karthi's fans is a huge
way. |
