Starring: Sajay, Nakshatra
Direction: Sriram Padmanabhan
Music: Abhishek-Lawrence
Production: R.Gunasekaran,K.N.Aadhinarayanan
Vocals: Haricharan, Priyadarshini, Ranjith, VJ Divya, T. Rajendar, Abhishek-Lawrence, Silambarasan, Reshmonu
Lyrics: Yugabharathi, G.Kumar, Na.Muthukumar

The duo newcomers Abhishek-Lawrence made their debut working for a track with Yuvan Shankar Raja’s ‘Cable Raja’ (Vaanam). Doo which has some additional attractions like Silambarasan and T.R. crooning songs each, marks their debut as music directors. The film is directed by Sriram Padmanabhan and is produced by R. Gunasekeran and K.N. Adhinarayanan.

Oru Naal Vidumurai...
Singers: Haricharan, Priyadarshini
Lyrics: G. Kumar

Listen to this song for couple of times and you’re sure to fall in love with it. The mesmerizing vocal of Haricharan isn’t the only factor that makes the track special, but the musical score by Abhishek-Lawrence as well. The additional keyboard programming by Praveen D Manual requires special mention. The chord works on keyboard are done with perfection, which adds more intensity to the vocals.

Kaiya Thoda Vena...
Singers: Ranjith, VJ Divya
Lyrics: Yugabharathy

The prelude played on brass itself gives a clear picture that it’s a stereo-typed Kuthu number and so it is. Ranjith and VJ Divya give an effortless performance and have done what is required for this style of song. Yugabharathy’s lyrical lines are mediocre.

Doo Da...
Singers: T. Rajendar, Abhishek-Lawrence
Lyrics: G. Kumar

Get ready to celebrate the ‘Gaana’ treat from T. Rajendar and Abhishek-Lawrence. The music director duo had already established their skilful work in ‘Cable Raja’ (Vaanam) that was a fast-beat Kuthu number. T. Rajendar strikes with more energy and catchy lyrics by G.Kumar are sure to capture the interests of youth groups. Perhaps, if the song has a rocking choreography, it will surely prove to be a treat for the audiences. For the lovers of ‘Kuthu’ numbers, the last 60secs of the track is more than enough to keep you invigorated.

Nadhiyile...
Singers:  Silambarasan
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar

Melodies from Silambarasan have always remained as an idyllic treat for the listeners. His ability to render the songs with the emotional connection could be one of the reasons for becoming big hit. The latest one to join this bandwagon is ‘Nadhiyile’.  Strings and Piano have more prominence in the song and the music directors deserve applause for working perfectly over the both vocalisms and musical aspects. Na. Muthukumar comes up with lyrical lines that will surely let the listeners to connect with (Kadhal EnbadhuUnmayil Veranna, Pirivin Valithaane. Penne Penne Pirivilthaane Unmaiyai Unardhene is a sample). The reprised version of ‘Nadhiyile’ has Abhishek-Lawrence and Rhythm Programmer Praveen D Manuel crooning few portions with Silambarasan.

Va... Va..
Singers: Reshmonu
Lyrics: Yugabharathy

Unlike other songs in this album, ‘Va Va’ slightly lacks the soul. It looks like the music directors have tried pulling the song in a different style, which doesn’t work out the finest results. Maybe, the visuals can work some wonders for the song. Malaysia based singer Reshmonu’s voice sounds good and he could have been utilized properly.

Just like the teasers and posters have made it clear that Doo is a youthful subject, the songs go the same way. ‘Oru Naal Vidumurai’ by Haricharan and Silambarasan’s magical touch in ‘Nadhiyile’ are on its best. ‘Doo Da’ will be a special treat for the mass audiences and so will be ‘Kaiya Thoda Vena’.

Verdict: The newcomers almost ‘Doo’ it.
