TAMIL MOVIE RELEASE EXPECTATION

With the usage of old film titles becoming a fad, it's no surprise we have a Haridas in 2013, more than 60 years after the release of Thyagaraja Bhagavathar’s blockbuster in 1944. The latest Haridas is a small time production venture with Kishore and Sneha in the lead, directed by GNR Kumaravelan whose earlier credits include Ninaithale Inikkum and Yuvan Yuvathi.

Haridas has been lying low on publicity and the marketing efforts for the movie have been nearly non-existent. According to the director, the movie focuses primarily on a little boy of ten and it revolves around the fact that, for every child, his/her father is the hero while growing up.

The title character of Haridas is enacted by Prithviraj Das while Kishore and Sneha play his father and teacher respectively. The movie also has Soori and Pradeep Rawat in significant roles. Written by Kumaravelan and A.R.Venkatesan, Haridas has Vijay Antony's music and Rathnavelu's cinematography.

We have seen too many instances of small movies making it big and given that the summer vacation is drawing closer, Haridas might just have a chance at the box office if it turns out to be a charming little film.
