A film where the hero is an Aghori, the heroine a blind beggar and the plot is centered on the life of a group of suffering mutilated beggars ‘owned’ by a tormentor. Who would have thought that such a movie is possible in Tamil?. There is only one man who can pull such stuff off. No marks for guessing. Its only Bala!. Calling Arya and Pooja the hero and heroine of the movie respectively would be a disservice to Naan Kadavul which broke all existing conventions about the lead pair. The gumption of the director to give more importance and footage to the support cast than the male protagonist should serve as a tonic to all those who believe in script centered film making.
