A scathing shocker of a movie from Bala that explored the seamier aspects of the lives of beggars. Ilayaraja rose effortlessly to the occasion with his poignant music. Who can forget the dark brooding passion behind ‘Om Sivoham’ and ‘Pichaippatthiram’( the latter is from an earlier non-film album of his). Though hard-hitting, people found the movie fascinating.
