A ground breaking attempt from a young team; an attempt that came up trumps. Don’t raise your eyebrow after reading ‘young team’ in a sentence about a movie that featured Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal. The team that created the ‘Vaanam Ellai’ video consisted of Shruthi Haasan, Blaaze and Akshara Haasan. Now you know why it was called a young team. The concept of an album song which has no connection to the actual movie but promotional purposes has been around for quite some time now. In fact, Sasikumar had introduced it in Subramaniapuram with a degree of success. But, Vaanam Ellai has taken this to a while new level. The setting itself was unique; no bright lighting, normally mundane things like phone booths and autorickshaws used as settings and (the best touch) having stills and posters from the movie in the background. Very innovative and effective.
