This one clinches the top spot among
the best dance numbers of 2009.
Yes, there were a few other strong
contenders including Suriya’s
Pala Pala number from Ayan, Vijay’s
Naan Adicha and a few others (Nagulan’s
frenetic songs as well). But, Damakku
Damakku beats the rest for its incessant
flow of energy, smart (a bit unusual)
choice of locations and most importantly
some smart choreography with which
Suirya excelled on screen. Of course,
Benny Dayal’s rendition was
the backbone of all the energy that
was felt in the song, but that doesn’t
take away credit from the team for
bringing out a cracking dance number,
perfect ‘intro’ song
material. If only it was better
placed in the movie! |
