When we talk about newcomers, director Vikram Kumar showed enormous potential with his movie Yaavarum Nalam, which was a supernatural thriller. Slick direction, camera by PC Sreeram and editing by Sreekhar Prasad did help to maintain the suspense till the very end. The movie got rave reviews and its running time was only 137 minutes (2hrs and 17 mins). Interestingly, this movie too had only a couple of songs which were seen as essential in the movie's story.
