Spotted by Balaji Shakthivel’s assistant in a hospital, he was drafted straight into Kadhal, a decision that Balaji Shakthivel himself admitted to have reconsidered many times because of the man’s inability to be tutored to act. But, perhaps that is what made his role so realistic and believable in the end. The most realistic touches were the instances which showed how he managed his life and daily activities with just one hand; they looked straight out of life.
