Silambarasan’s directorial debut! Of course, everyone kind of knew that he did have a big say in Manmadan. But, Vallavan was his official debut and everyone was interested to see if he could repeat the Manmadan success story. The rather controversial promotional stills of the movie also helped. The opening was expectedly very good for the movie, but sadly the momentum couldn’t be sustained over the days as the movie fell out of favor with the audiences.
