Usually love triumphs over all else but in Kadhal Desam, only friendship emerges as the winner. Abbas and Vineet attend rival colleges but a hockey match and a small sacrifice make them the best of friends. Unfortunately, they fall in love with the same girl (Tabu) and come to blows over her. The two see the error of their ways soon and team up to rescue the damsel in distress from the bad guy. In the climax, the object of their love decrees that she has no wish to break up a beautiful friendship and it would be best for all of them to stay friends and forget about love. A beautiful sentiment!
