This was the most unexpected and yet predicted. How often does a newcomer take a Filmfare home? That made it unexpected. But, after a movie like Paruthiveeran and a performance like the one Karthi Sivakumar had delivered, the award did get predictable. Ameer’s expert handling of a talented actor was evident but it was indeed astonishing to see a greenhorn come up with such a matured performance, he showed that even if it was his first movie, he was no spring chicken.
