Bharathiraja and Ilayaraja were not just colleagues in the film industry, they were bosom buddies even before they became legends in their own right. Talks of a crack in their bond appeared when Bharathiraja went to Rahman for kizhakku cheemaiyile, breaking his evergreen combination with Ilayaraja. The reasons are not yet known. Though, this change in preference for composer doesn’t seem to have affected their friendship. One would really love to see this combination come alive again.
