Masala - Flavors Unlimited - Coming Soon in Bay Area

Mar 19, 2013

“No grassroots charity should go without funds” – This bold vision resulted in the formation of Aram Sei. Aram Sei provides fundraising support for grassroots charities in the areas of education and healthcare. In addition to fundraising, Aram Sei strives to encourage volunteerism, promote community participation and instill the act of paying it forward in the minds of children and young adults.

In 2012, Aram Sei supported three charities in India to help fund education and healthcare needs of over 250 underprivileged children. This year, Aram Sei has embarked on a bigger challenge. Their first two projects for 2013 involve providing fundraising support for two organizations located on opposite ends of the world. Community Health Education Society (CHES), Chennai, India, is dedicated to rehabilitating orphaned or abandoned children living with HIV. Their goal for this year is to provide funding support for educating over 100 children at CHES.

The Grateful Garment Project, Campbell CA, provides assistance to victims of sexual assault in several California counties including the counties of Alameda, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz. Aram Sei aims to deliver essential supplies that will provide immediate support to over 200 victims of sexual assault.

To help kick start the fundraising activities for 2013, Aram Sei has teamed up with Visweta, Bay Area’s leading South Indian dance troupe to organize a dance production called Masala.Masala is Visweta’s 3rd annual production and will be held on March 30th, 2013 at the Woodside Performing Arts Center; Woodside CA. Masala will feature exquisite dance performances encompassing a broad range of styles such as classical, folk, contemporary, and hip hop.Thisdance program, along with all upcoming Aram Sei events,is being made possible by the support provided by Madras Café and Groceries (www.madrascafe.us).
