Actress Sridevi, who was recently honored with the Padma Shri award by the Government of India, was recently in the city to take part in a regional TV channel’s special program for Tamil New Year’s day. During her brief stay in the city she spoke of how much she enjoys Vivek and Vadivelu’s comedy and that she could watch the comedy channels all day long.

She said that she had been approached with several offers in Tamil but she’s being very particular about the projects she’s being involved in. On the subject of whom she would like to work with from the current crop of actors in Tamil she replied without hesitation that it would be Ajith Kumar, who made a gracious appearance in her comeback film English Vinglish.

The admiration for Ajith always seems to transcend generations as newcomer Rejith, who will soon be seen in director Vikraman’s film Ninaithadu Yaro, looks upto Ajith as his role model in the cinema industry. Rejith is an engineering graduate who will be making his debut in a project helmed by Vikraman after quite an hiatus.
