Although remake rights of hit regional movies are still in demand, producers are increasingly realizing that producing a movie bilingually / trilingually is much more economical, that will reap double dividends. Here's a sample list of multilingual movies and actors who alternate in the various versions.

While the Big B Amitabh Bachchan dons a cameo in Sridevi's comeback English Vinglish, Ajith does the same in the Tamil and Telugu versions.

Gautham Menon's Neethaane En Ponvasantham will have Jiiva playing the lead in Tamil and Naani doing the same in its Telugu version.

Bejoy Nambiar’s David will have Jiiva and Vikram in the Tamil version with Vinay Virmani playing Jiiva’s role in its Hindi version.

Jayam Ravi's Nimirndu Nil is a bilingual with Ravi being replaced by Naani in its Telugu version.
