The two back to back releases this weekend
almost seem to signify that Sundar C is
going to be back with a bang. He must have
missed all the action, sentiment, comedy
and love as his fans. Vaada and Guru Sishyan
are releasing this weekend and as the frivolous
name would already have suggested, Vaada
is not a serious tale.
Sundar seems to tread the sex-comedy track
in Vaada, directed by A Venkatesh. And before
we forget, director Venkatesh made a few
jaws drop what with his splendid performance
in the recently released Angadi Theru. He
showed a new dimension of acting in the
film which will be quite contrary to what
he is going to show us in the sex comedy
Vaada. The movie promises to stick to Sundar’s
formula of action, masala, sentiment and
glamour.
The movie boasts to have been shot in the
picturesque Rishikesh and it’s also
said that Vaada is the only Tamil movie
ever to be shot there.
Vaada is penned by the popular Tamil novelist
Pattukottai Prabhakar who has many successful |

novels to his credit. But director Venkatesh is very
realistic about the story’s potential. “It’s
a regular story and there’s nothing extraordinary,”
he claims. He adds that he has made sure the movie is
told in a different and fast-paced manner.
Vaada is produced by M R Mohan and scored by Imaan who
has tuned a few catchy songs for the movie. Given Imaan’s
past credentials, that claim does not seem to be far
fetched.
On the whole, Vaada is targeted at the C & C+ audience
of Sundar who never fail to provide patronage for his
movies starting from his Thalainagaram days. |
