Raja is back and you have guessed right, it is a remake again. This time Kollywood gets a ‘Kick’ from Tollywood. Thillalangadi, which has been generating quite high expectations ever since it was announced, is ready for release during the weekend.

The film is definitely packed with elements that go towards making a big success. First of course is the director’s track record. Raja has seldom failed at the box office, in fact one can say that he has never faltered. Though it has been all about remakes all the time, his success record is undeniable and that itself makes Thillalangadi a candidate for success. Then of course is his combination with younger brother Jayam Ravi that has always produced only superhits. Their last outing together, Santhosh Subramaniam, remake of Bommarillu, too was memorable and they will be looking forward to repeating or even bettering the magic this time. And, all this now has the backing of Sun Pictures which makes the film hot property.
  Thillalangadi

Thillalangadi tells the story of a very successful professional who just does not find life interesting. He is too smart to be challenged by the ordinary daily grind of office work and soon starts. He finds life boring and decides that something interesting has to be done to spice it up. The path that he chooses to spice up his life is not easy, safe or legal. How does this affect his life and love?

The spilt genius theme has not been often handled in Kollywood and so will have a unique feel. Jayam Ravi plays the role that Ravi Teja excelled in Kick. He will be looking forward for a big box office hit. His last release Peraanmai gained a lot of appreciation and was noticed for his makeover to the action mould. Now, he will be trying something entirely different. That is not to say that Thillalangadi is short of action. There seems to be plenty in it. Shaam, who repeats his role from the Telugu version, will be eager to put his Kollywood career back on track. And, Tamannah, the new hit machine of Kollywood will perhaps be the lucky mascot of the film.

Thillalangadi will also have a lot of emphasis on comedy. There seems to be quite a lot of footage on Vadivelu and it looks like a few famous scenes from recent movies have been spoofed. It definitely is going to be a laugh fest if he gets into top gear. He also has Santhanam for company which will make matters even funnier.

Others in the cast include experienced artistes such as Prabhu and Suhasini. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and Thaman Sai is peppy and energetic.

With a hit team behind it and an already successful original showing the way, Thillalangadi has the odds going for it at the box office.
