Jaguar Thangam is a renowned stunt master in the film industry and has directed action sequences for most of the frontrunners of the industry like Kamal, Sathyaraj, Ajith, Vijay etc. Besides working in Kollywood, Thangam has also trained many heroes for the fight sequences in Telugu, Kannada and Hindi films.
He is debuting as a director in a film titled Surya. As expected this film will be a hardcore action flick and will feature his son Vijaya Chiranjeevi as hero who is also trained in various martial art forms, Silambatam and gymnastics.

It has been touted that the climax scene in the film will be the highlight and is sure to make the entire nation take notice of it. Cameraman of the film R H Ashok says that they have used the latest techniques in cinematography and have shot the climax using 46 cameras and 100 stunt artists in twelve days. He further adds that the climax sequence will have Bruce Lee’s and M G R’s fighting technique. He thanks all the stunt artists who have cooperated with him and also mentions that twenty of them were admitted in hospital during the shooting of climax.

Hero was caught in fifty different cameras working out more than one hundred types of work outs and exercises for the song ‘Padaiyedu Suriyane’. It has been alleged that the hero took rigorous training for more than nine hours everyday.

 
Surya will feature 1000 original Karate fighters, 200 Kung-fu exponents and 150 Silambatam personnel. M J Raja who is working on sound effects needed twelve extra days to complete his work. Jerome Pushparaj who scores music for Surya went to Hong Kong and Mumbai to complete re-recording work.

Surya is not only for action lovers but also claims to caters to romantic buffs. Keerthi Chawla and Neepa are the heroines and the director claims that there are also kissing scenes in the film. Surya appears to be for the action lovers.
