Paagan gains significance since it is directed by director Ameer's associate Mohammed Aslam. Aslam assisted Ameer in many of his blockbusters before taking off on his own as a full-fledged director. Paagan stars Srikanth after his successful homecoming with Nanban recently. Janani Iyer is cast opposite Srikanth in the movie that gives prominence to comedy.

Much of Paagan revolves around a bicycle, as per the production sources. Music is scored by James Vasanthan and the audio was released recently in Chennai. The event was attended by Ameer, Suseendhiran, Samudhirakani, Prabhu Solomon, Namitha, Suja, Siva, Madhan, Muthukumar and Karu Pazhaniappan.

Paagan's star cast includes Soori, Pandi and Venkatesh apart from Kovai Sarala who is playing a pivotal role in the movie according to the director. Produced by VP productions and distributed by Vendhar movies, Paagan is releasing this weekend. This movie is also expected to be a second comeback for Srikanth.
