Sanikizhamai Saayangalam 5 Mani is about two young
lovers who set out on a tour at 5 PM on a Saturday.
The twist in the tale comes when the girl goes missing
on the trip. The lover boy keeps searching for his
girl and eventually finds her the following Saturday
at exactly 5PM. What happens in between forms the
story and the director invites us to watch the movie
in theatres this weekend. Needless to say that this
movie is a crime-thriller!
Ravi Bharathi, who had penned the story and dialogues
for Madurai to Theni Vazhi Andipatti, will make his
debut as the director of Sanikizhamai Saayangalam
5 Mani. It would be interesting to see the debutant's
approach in the movie. The screenplay for the movie
has been handled by Radhi Bala, who was the director
of Madurai to Andipatti...
SPS Guhan will wield the camera for this film and
Karthik Subramanian will take care of the editing.
All the songs have been written by Era. Thamizh Selvan
and have been set to tune by JV. Dhina and Sanjeev
Khanna are in charge of the choreography. Rajashekar
is the stunt master.
Sarath and Malini will make their debuts in this film
alongside the HD SLR camera which has been used in
this movie. If Madurai to Theni Vazhi Andipatti, was
shot using a digital camera, Sanikizhamai Saayangalam
5 Mani has gone one step further and has created a
new record. This is the first time a HD SLR camera
has been used for a movie. This feat has been entered
into the Limca Book of Records. Though there have
been short films shot using this camera, this is the
first time ever, the HD SLR camera has been used to
capture a feature film.
With an interesting cast, director and techniques,
Sanikizhamai Saayangalam 5 Mani may prove to be the
underdog this weekend. This again is a different movie,
when compared with other movies releasing this weekend,
in terms of genre and let us hope it evokes the eerie
feeling in us that it intends to.
