Srikanth
enters the antihero domain this
weekend with Rasikkum Seemane.
The antihero character is a
once in a lifetime opportunity
for an actor and all those who
have made the best use it have
gone on to script their names
in the history of the industry.
Sigappu Rojakkal was one of
the turning points of Kamal’s
career and Rajini has quite
a few roles with grey shades
under his belt including the
ribald Parattai of 16 Vayadinile.

set his Kollywood career on the fast track
with the villainous debut in Kana Kandein
where Srikanth played the protagonist. Now,
its Srikanth’s turn to give his best
shot at the antihero role and sure enough
Rasikkum Seemane will be a litmus test for
this comeback actor.
It was after a considerable gap that Srikanth
appeared on the big screen last year with
Poo, a pleasant departure from the regular
commercial products. He is back on the road
big time with many films in his kitty. Amongst
them is Indravizha which has generated expectations,
thanks to Namitha. But, Rasikkum Seemane
is the first one to hit theaters. It was
earlier titled Ettappan but was later changed
to the current title.
Rasikkum Seemane will boast of quite a few
firsts. One is of course Srikanth’s
first character with negative shades. Second
are the reports that Navya Nair has for
the first time in her career done a role
with hints of glamour involved. Rasikkum
Seemane has been directed by R.K. Vidhyadharan
who has earlier handled the dialogues for
Jayam Ravi’s Something Something Unakkum
Enakkum and directed the Sarath Kumar starrer
Vaitheeswaran. He is also in charge of the
story, screenplay and dialogue apart from
donning the greasepaint for an important
role.
‘Death is what God uses to blackmail
mortals. The only people who don’t
fear death are those in love’. This
is the essence of Rasikkum Seemane. The
movie tells the story of a man who derives
great pleasure in blackmailing high flying
people in the society after getting to know
some dark secrets of their life. It is then
that he comes across Navya Nair and thinks
that he can have his way with her by using
his blackmailing skills. Does that happen?
Rasikkum Seemane has music by Vijay Anthony.
The song ‘Oh Rasikkum Seemane’,
which has been shot on a grand scale is
being projected as one of the highlights
of the film which has been shot in some
locations in Ooty never before seen on camera.
