The last Friday of the year,
it is Christmas, and the release
will be Odippolama! The title
is self explanatory. You don’t
need to be told about the genre
to which the film belongs. It
has to be a youthful love story
which will involve a couple
on the run. With Kaadal Sandhya
(the prefix seems to have become
permanent) and new face Parimal
in the lead, one’s suspicion
about the nature of the film
is only further strengthened.
The director, Kanmani, has however
stated that it will not be just
another routine love story.
It will be a story with a lot
of interesting twists about
two strangers who meet each
other while they are on the
run from their homes and the
hassles that they face in their
(mis)adventures. The premise
is definitely interesting and
is one that will find its share
of admirers and advocates amongst
the target audience, the youth.
Odippolama will be an important
one in Sandhya’s career
which still seems to be in the
Kaadal follow through mode.
Her recent releases include
Mahesh Saranya Mattrum Palar
which couldn’t do big
things at the box office. Music
for Odippolama has been scored
by D.Imman who has been in good
form this year. The Odippolama
team will need his good form
to work for them;
