Sundar C candidly admitted he had a director's block
before five years and wanted to take a break from
direction. After having acted in successful movies,
he says he is in full shape to get to where he actually
belonged. Nagaram's storyline is quite intriguing
as described by the director himself. He says that
the end point of any story, a happy ending or sad
will be the starting point of this movie. He has told
that it is a different concept and will surely be
accepted by the masses. Nagaram will also be the first
time Sundar C has directed and acted in the same movie.
Another high point of the movie would be the combination
of Sundar C and Vadivelu in this movie. The duo is
getting back on screen after a long gap as well. Vadivelu's
earlier ventures with Sundar C, Giri, Winner and Thalai
Nagaram, have been classics. It is told that Vadivelu
will have a new get-up and is donning the character
of 'Style' Pandi in this movie. "The comedy portions
will bring the roof down. This will be better our
previous combinations”, assures the director.
Anuya, expecting another hit, is the heroine of the
movie. Sundar C has been all praises for the heroine
in interviews. He even said that she had the liberty
to view her opinions about costumes and dialogue deliveries
on Nagaram’s sets. She can be seen in a totally
different role unlike a normal heroine who runs around
trees.
Another plus is Thaman's music which has already struck
the right chord with the audience. As the story demanded
less-than-normal dialogues, Thaman has worked magic
in the re-recording of the movie. Cinematography is
by Chelladurai, who has been an assistant to cinematographer
and director KV Anand. The cuts and chops department
has been the responsibility of Praveen KL and Srikanth
NB.
With a reputed director and a popular hero in Sundar
C, Vadivelu's comedy track and Thaman's music, Nagaram
Maruppakkam is set to wow audience on the 19th of
November, 2010.
