Friendship
is one of the most beautiful
things on earth. It is everlasting
and unconditional. There have
been great stories about friendship
and cinema has always thrived
on this as a theme. Last year’s
Subramaniapuram showed us how
strong and deep the ties of
friendship can be. This year,
the team returns, but the roles
have been reversed. The director
has become the directed and
the directed is now directing.
Samuthirakani who played a role
in Subramaniapuram convinced
Sasikumar to don the greasepaint
for Nadodigal, another saga
of friendship.

Nadodigal tells the tale of three young
people of Rajapalayam, with their own small
dreams of a good life nut eventually becoming
wanderers for the sake of a friend. Samuthirakani
has taken a much deeper view of friendship
in Nadodigal. He has shown how friendship
can change our lives, even take our lives
to a different level or give us a new life.
In short, it is a much more serious take
on friendship. Coming from the Subramaniapuram
team, there can be no doubt about the fact
that the film will be as realistic as it
can get.
Music has been scored by Sundar C Babu.
The cast consists of many debutantes, Ananya,
Abinaya, Barani along with Sasikumar and
Kanja Karuppu. Nadodigal must also be appreciated
for making something impossible come alive
on screen; a girl with a speaking disability
has played a role in the movie and has been
given a voice in dubbing.
Nadodigal has raised the bar for itself
after the recent censor screening where
it was reportedly applauded by the officials
for its content. Let us hope Nadodigal repeats
what Subramaniapuram did in 2008. |
