Looks like pure love stories are back in
fashion. For the third Friday in a row,
we are set to get a movie that will have
nothing else to say but love. Mundhinam
Paartheney will be an out-and-out romantic
flick that will look to make you melt.
The theme of love seems to give a lot of
confidence to producers and directors. That
is why there are so many love stories being
made that believe only in the strength of
the emotion involved, irrespective of the
star cast or other factors. Mundhinam Paartheney
is one of those kinds, featuring debutantes
Sanjay and Ekta in the lead.
The movie has been directed by another debutante
Magizh Thirumeni, a former assistant of
Gautham Menon and Selvaraghavan. Now, we
know the secret behind the title of the
film, it may be a tribute by the director
to his mentor. According to the director,
‘there is nothing new or groundbreaking
in the film’. Now, there are very
few directors who would have the courage
to say things of this nature about their
movies. In fact, we are used to seeing directors
talking about how their film is ‘different’

others past and present. But, Magizh Thirumeni has also
said that he has looked to offer a fully romantic and
feel-good film that can be unconditionally enjoyed by
the audience. That is not a tall claim, but something
that will be tough to deliver nevertheless.
Music for this romantic flick has been scored by Thaman
Sai who is making giant strides in Kollywood with each
passing album. The music has already caught up with
the youth to some extent and will be one of the key
factors in determining the fate of Mundhinam Paartheney
. With a few hits like Eeram already under his belt,
Thaman is definitely one to watch out for in the coming
years in Kollywood.
Well, romance and love seem to be the flavor of the
season. After the advent of VTV, the rough and tough
have taken a back seat while the mellow has started
riding a wave. Let us see whether Mundhinam Paartheney
can ride the same wave into the hearts of its target
audience - the youth. |
