It
is not often that you see Anupam
Kher and Sharmila Tagore on
screen together. In fact, one
is finding it difficult to remember
the last time Sharmila Tagore
was seen in a consequential
role. So, it is indeed happy
news to know that she is coming
back on the 10th of July to
the silver screen.

the multiplex chain will release
this Friday and will be a rare
occasion when arguably two of

actors in the Hindi film industry are seen
in lead roles. The title ‘Morning
Walk’ might lead one to think that
it belongs to the Indian-English genre of
crossover cinema, a lot of which we have
got over the couple of years. ‘Morning
Walk’ might also remind one of the
movie ‘Morning Raga’ that had
released a few years ago featuring Shabana
Azmi in the lead.
However, this is something different. It
is about the realization of a man that life
might be slipping away and that he has to
make up a lot of lost ground by loving all
those around him, especially his family
which consists of a son, daughter-in-law
and a grand daughter. It is on the morning
of his birthday that Joymohan suffers a
heart attack and understands that life is
meant for love and care. Life changes for
him during a morning walk when he comes
across his old student and friend, Neelima
Sharma who is now a mother of two, but conceals
a surreal truth. Her daughter Anjali dreams
of pursuing her doctorate in the US and
all those around her are full of support
for her ambition. What is the surreal truth
that Neelima holds that changes Joymohan’s
life forever? Watch Morning Walk to discover
a beautiful story of the two families that
are so different from each other and yet
share a special bond.
Watching Anupam Kher and Sharmila Tagore
in full length roles might be incentive
enough for connoisseurs of good cinema.
Apart from them, there are Rajit Kapoor
and Divya Dutta, class actors in their own
right. There is also Avika Gor, Shayan Munshi
and Nargis.
Inox’s foray into film production
is no surprise as they have been involved
with distribution for a long time now. Their
entry into production marks a new phase,
especially with Sathyam Cinemas also getting
their own production underway.
With a strong cast and claims of strong
content, one expects Morning Walk to be
a special experience to all lovers of good
cinema. |
