It seems the fad of directors casting themselves in the lead is returning. Meeravudan Krishna is directed by debut director Krishna who also plays the movie's male lead. Swetha, whose earlier credits include Payanangal Thodarum, Naanum En Kadhalum and Kamban Kazhagam,is the female lead.

Director and lead Krishna says that the film focuses on love after marriage. “Normally, films focus on love between the young. This film showcases a married couple and how the two get to know each other,” he stated at the movie's audio launch.

Meeravudan Krishna is produced by M.R.A. Vijay, and the cast list includes Radha, Manobala, Anandi and Ganesh. Music is composed by K.K. Senthil Prasad.
