Actor Narain makes an entry into Kollywood after he made his debut in Mysskin’s ‘Chithiram Pesuthadi’. He last played hero in ‘Anjathey’. He plays a light hearted role of a college student who also revolts as an angry youngster against injustice. Poonam Bajwa who has acted in films like Seval, Thenavattu, Kacheri Arambam and Drohi plays a village belle in this film that joins hands with her lover to unite two warring villages.
Prabhu as a key person, Meena as Narain’s sister and Sangeetha in a negative role don pivotal characters while the rest of the cast which includes Manobala, Ganja Karuppu, Kausalya, Aarthi, Alex, Rajendran, Vijayalakshmi, Sithara, Crane Manohar and Muthukalai. Sangeetha’s character is said to speak a lot of punch dialogues. Though an illiterate, she happens to quotes from law books that would evoke claps from the audience. Good comedy strips have been created by the duo MS Bhasker and Santhanam, the emerging comedians of Kollywood in recent times.
The story is said to run between action and usual traits of a commercial masala film. The film shot in Chennai, Hyderabad, Thambikottai, Pudukottai and other areas, specially locating to Kulu Manali for song sequences is a judicious mix of comedy, action and romance. The plot of the movie revolves around a bridge specially erected at a whopping cost in the village called Thambikottai in Thanjavur district known for its country side violence. Music is by the young happening music director D Imman. He has scored well especially in the songs keeping track of the varied emotions in this village based theme. Camerawork is by Kannan.
Will the big banner’s produce Thambikottai make a success with its energetic and enthusiastic team, to top it all with its rural tale of rom-com and action combo? Let’s wait till its release on 11th February.
