The plot of Magizhchi is based on a simple plot of how one can lead a happy and content life. Though this is being touted as a racy film, the director assures that there will be no dull moments in Magizhchi. Having been impressed with Neela Padmanabhan's novel 'Thalaimuraigal', Gowthaman was ready with the script nearly ten years back before he can find someone to produce his script. When asked about his choice of playing the protagonist, he had earlier commented that the script demanded a fresh face and hence he decided to play the leading role himself.

The movie has Karthika, of Dindigul Sarathy fame, and Anjali as the leading ladies. Prakash Raj also makes a cameo appearance in the movie while Seeman will play a rebellious character in the movie. It seems that Seeman immediately accepted to the role when Gowthaman described it to him.

Songs by Vidyasagar have been well appreciated and a couple of songs have been the Top 10 list for a while now. This could also be because Vairamuthu has penned the lyrics for the movie. The cinematography has been handled by Chezhiyan.

Magizhchi has the right mix of experience and new talent to make this a film worthy of expectations. But it will be interesting to see how this will compete with Sundar C's Nagaram, which is supposed to be released on the same date.
