was last seen in a cameo as herself in the
film Angadi Theru and it has been quite
some time since we saw her in full fledged
roles in Tamil films. She will now be back
with a bang this Friday in Bhavani IPS which
is finally releasing after months of lying
in the cans. Sneha is the main character
in this film that has no hero. She is said
to have worked hard to get fit for this
role as a police officer. |

Bhavani IPS is said have drawn inspiration from two
films- Vyjayanthi IPS and Poo Ondru Puyalaanathu. Both
the films starred the Telugu actress Vijayshanthi who
ruled the roost in Tollywood for over two decades. Her
role in Vyjayanthi IPS made her par with the male stars
in the industry and the dubbed version of this film
did well in Tamil too.
Sneha plays the role of a sincere and tough cop Bhavani
and she is so sincere that the politicians are not happy
with her. The leading politician played by Kota Srinivasa
Rao tries to usurp her and even murder her and gives
plenty of trouble trying to bring her down. The film
is said to be about how Bhavani overcomes her struggles
to emerge triumphant. Sampath who shined in Saroja as
a villain is to play the role of a cop in this film.
The movie apart from plenty of action will have the
regular dose of item numbers with the villains prancing
around. A real life incident based on Kiran Bedi was
also shot in this movie, where she lifted a politician’s
car by a crane for driving in a No-Entry.
The film is a bi-lingual (Tamil and Telugu) directed
by G.Kitcha and has music by Dheena. It is produced
by G.Kitcha and M Shagul Hameed and will have Vivekh,
Kota Srinivasa Rao, Sampath, Delhi Ganesh, Mano Bala,
Ponnambalam and Brahmanandham in prominent roles.
We cannot wait to see Sneha in the new action avatar
and let’s wait and watch if this film will do
to Sneha, what Vyjayanthi IPS did to Vijayshanthi’s
career. |
