| Ayyanar
is the coming together of a unique trio:
Aadhi, Thaman and PL Thenappan. The movie,
which has been delayed due to various reasons,
is out to enthrall audiences from this Friday.
With Meera Nandan in tow, Aadhi is out to
prove the role of the Hindu God Ayyanar,
who is commonly referred to as the 'Guardian
Deity'. The movie has been produced by PL
Thenappan. |

Ayyanar, which would be a sentimental, romantic, action
entertainer, will showcase Aadhi as an angry young man.
Shot mostly in villages down south and also in cities,
Ayyanar is about Aadhi's attachment to his family and
his efforts to save his related ones from the baddies.
Meera Nandan would be his love interest in the movie.
Industry sources say that Ayyanar will exhibit Aadhi
in a totally different avatar from his earlier movies.
A look at the trailer also suggests so.
Aadhi and Meera Nandan are fresh from having got good
comments for their performances in Eeram and Valmiki
respectively. The highlight of this movie would be Santhanam's
comedy track which is supposed to be on the lines of
spoofing Osama Bin Laden.
Director SS Rajamithran, who is a product of the film
institute, assures that the movie will be liked by all.
To complement his words, the hero of the movie Aadhi
had earlier said, "The film has come out very well
and all credits should go to my director Rajamithran
and Thenappan sir. It is a mass commercial entertainer.
The songs are good. Wish it reigns supreme at the box-office".
With lyrics written by Na. Muthukumar, Thamarai and
Viveka, the songs of the movie have been composed by
Thaman. Mostly village-bound, the songs have been appreciated
well with 'Paniye Paniye' being the standout of the
album. Thaman, who had earlier worked with Aadhi in
Eeram, has mentioned that he has used live recording
for the background score in the movie. When seen on
the screen, the songs are expected to become more popular.
Producer PL Thenappan needs no introduction. Having
produced movies like Pancha Thanthiram, Pammal K Sambandham,
Kaadhala Kaadhala and Thenali under his banner Sri Rajalakshmi
Films, he has trusted the director and the script immensely.
Though this is a relatively small budget movie, he has
ensured that the production values of this movie are
on par with other movies. The cinematography has been
handled by Sethu Sriram.
With a promising star cast and director, a veteran producer
and appealing music, Ayyanar is expected to score big.
But with other releases in the pipeline, including Vijayakanth-starrer
Virudagiri, it would be quite a curious task to see
what happens in the box office after this weekend.
