Being Ajith’s 50^th film, the expectations for Mankatha have gone straight through the stratosphere. Few flicks barring of course Superstar Rajinikanth’s films have generated this kind of feverish excitement in recent times. Every miniscule detail about the film that has leaked out has been devoured by the fans who have consequently worked themselves up into a raging frenzy. Ajith’s brand new look for the film is believed to have been inspired by Hollywood star George Clooney, voted by People magazine as the sexiest man in the world. Of course in these parts, people swear that Ajith has rocked this look and looks way better than the Hollywood heartthrob.

Venkat Prabhu, the director of super hits like Chennai 600028 and Saroja has promised hardcore Ajith fans a treat they will never forget. He proudly claimed that he himself is a huge Ajith fan and therefore knows exactly what his admirers expect from him and has made the film accordingly.

The music by Yuvan Shankar Raja has enjoyed record sales from day one. The Yuvan – Venkat Prabhu combo has been an extremely successful one in the past and Mankatha has proved again that the cousins make a winning team where music is concerned. The songs are being played everywhere and are really setting the mood for the film which stands on the brink of release.

The makers have been careful not to let too many plot details slip, but the buzz is that Ajith’s character has shades of grey and will be involved in a cat and mouse game with Arjun’s cop character. The film has a starry cast with the likes of Premji Amaren, Vaibhav, Aravind Akash and some fresh talent. Trisha, Lakshmi Rai, Andrea and Anjali are the lovely ladies who are going to add sizzle to the proceedings.
