Come
Pongal and Dhanush will lock horns with
Vijay for the fourth time for a festival
release. Aadukalam is director Vetrimaran's
second movie with Dhanush after Polladhavan
and has made everyone quite inquisitive
about it. Aadukalam is produced by S Kathiresan
and will be distributed by Sun Pictures.
If Santhanam entertained audiences in Polladhavan,
it is the turn of Karunas to tickle the
funny bone in Aadukalam. |

Aadukalam is about a Madurai-based youngster (Dhanush)
who owns a one-legged rooster which very easily wins
all the competitions. Aadukalam is based on a real life
incident that happened in Madurai in the seventies.
Apart from the main plot, Aadukalam also has a romantic
portion with Dhanush falling in love with Taapsee Pannu
who is an Anglo-Indian girl. The film was shot for more
than six months in Thirunagar, Thirupparankundram and
surrounding areas.
Dhanush is an excited man as he has repeatedly revealed
that Aadukalam is his most exciting project as yet.
He has taken lots of efforts to ensure he looks like
a typical village guy and to get the Madurai slang right.
Taapsee, on the other hand, is an exciting match for
Dhanush. While Nayanthara was first expected to be Dhanush's
pair, it was later speculated that Trisha will don the
role. But since her dates with her Bollywood project
clashed, the opportunity went to Taapsee Pannu who is
a Delhi-based model and an engineer. She and her friends
have developed an application for iPhone. The movie
will also star Karunas, Kishore and Daniel Balaji, who
starred in Polladhavan as well.
Art direction has been handled by 'Parthi Veeran' fame
Jacky. Cinematography is by R Selvaraj. Late stunt choreographer
Rambo Rajkumar has shaped the fight sequences. Director
Vetrimaran has assured audience that Aadukalam will
be entirely different from his first movie and belongs
to a completely different genre.
The young versatile music director GV Prakash leaps
high with his music. He has created a fine masterpiece.
He has imported foreign instruments and sound systems
for delivering unique and distinct musical addition
to Aadukalam. The songs are already topping the charts
like his earlier movies Pollathavan and Madrasapattinam
with ‘Yathe Yathe’ hitting the top.
Once Aadukalam hits silver screens on Pongal, we will
know if the team and Dhanush’s rooster make the
flick to rule the roost. |
