The South Indian Film Artistes Association held a general council meeting yesterday. President Sarath Kumar, who is also the MLA from Tenkasi, Radha Ravi, Vijayakumar, Kuyili and Sathiyapriya were present. One of the issues on the table was the wage issue raised by the Film Employees' Federation of South India (FEFSI) members who have been agitating for a unilateral increase in wages.
The Nadigar Sangam has decided to request all the parties - FEFSI, the Tamil Film Producers' Council, and South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) to discuss the issue calmly and arrive at a solution that best meets the interests of all concerned. Having discussed this, the members also congratulated J Jayalalitha on her win.
Finally, a resolution was passed asking all artistes who had not yet registered with the Nadigar Sangam to do so immediately or be prepared to pay the penalty.
