Director Shankar, in
an interview to a popular television channel,
had revealed that the antagonist role in
Endhiran was initially offered to Amitabh
Bachchan. However, the actor refused the
offer as he felt it would not be accepted
by the audience. Moreover, several of Big
B’s films in which he had played the negative
role bombed at the box office.
Shankar said that when Rajinikanth was
told that his dear friend Amitabh Bachchan
is being considered for the role, he was
happy and encouraged the director to cast
him.
During the interview, Shankar stated
that Endhiran would be a never-seen-before
experience for the Indian movie buffs.
