The
audio launch of Myna took place at Sathyam
Cinemas recently with Kamal Haasan releasing
the CD and director Bala receiving it from
him. Speaking at the event, Shaam said that
Myna’s director Prabhu Solomon was a staunch
theist and while beginning every shot he would
seek the blessings of Christ Jesus.
When it was Bala’s turn to take to the mike,
he stunned everyone by saying that he came
to the audio launch with the intention of
talking about Prabhu Solomon’s efforts in
making the film but when he heard that the
director sought the blessings of the lord
during each shot, he decided not to talk about
the film. He said that if a director is capable,
he would not believe in God. Bala, however,
added he is one of the strong critics for
Prabhu’s films but with Myna he had only praises.
Prabhu Solomon reiterated that he is a staunch
believer in God and said that he experienced
several miracles during the making of the
film. He ended the speech with “Jesus” and
glanced towards Bala.
When it was Kamal Haasan’s turn to speak,
he chided Bala for talking about religious
issues on stage. Kamal said that the country
is expecting some tense moments with the Ayodhya
verdict around the corner and raking up religious
issues may cause more tension. He expressed
that Bala should refrain from speaking about
sensitive issues. And then, Kamal delivered
the first two lines of the “Kallai Mattum
Kandal” song in Dasavatharam.
The actor, moving on to another topic, said
that when Tamil cinema was not in the best
of times he used to have sleepless nights.
However, the current trend ensured that he
slept fitfully everyday.
