The trailer and audio release function
of Yogi, in which director Ameer
dons the greasepaint was held at
Sathyam Cinemas on September 13,
2009 at around 9 am.
The film’s trailer took everyone
by surprise as the audiences were
engrossed in the 1- minute long
trailer that was sketched in Hollywood
style. The photography and editing
style is something new to Tamil
cinema and will definitely evoke
curiosity.
The highlights of the event was
the ‘Chennai Koovathile’
song that was displayed on screen
where you find Ameer takes a never
seen before avatar of dancing to
a blend of Bharatanatyam and country
dance.
The event was well attended by
many film personalities and on the
dais were Cheran, Subramaniyapuram
Sasi and Ramanarayanan. Veteran
director Bharathirajaa avoided the
stage and was found sitting among
the audience.
Speaking on this Cheran made certain
that there was no difference of
opinion among those sitting on the
podium and Bharathirajaa as the
director felt it inappropriate to
sit on stage while 1.5 lakh Tamils
are suffering in Sri Lanka.
Confirming what Cheran had said,
Bharathirajaa stated that after
the death of Prabhakaran, he has
decided not to be an integral part
of any function.
