Court orders Bharathiraja to quit

According to the Chennai City Civil Court’s order, director Bharathiraja cannot continue as the Tamil Directors’ Council President. In a petition filed by director R.C. Shakthi that Council’s elections were not conducted fairly the court has restrained Bharathiraja from continuing to head the Directors’ Council.

Further, the magistrate ordered fresh elections and appointed advocate Vidya as the court’s commissioner to monitor the proceedings. S.A. Chandrasekar has been appointed as the election officer and will ensure that the election is conducted as per the rules and regulations of the Directors’ Council.
