Priya Mani's Paruthiveeran hangover

Actress Priya Mani was all smiles on Tuesday when she received the National award for the best actress category. She was adjudged the best actress for her performance in Paruthiveeran, which also proved to be a commercial hit. Speaking to the media after receiving the award, Priya Mani said that she was happy to receive the award and would

henceforth concentrate on films based on characters that would be accepted by the audiences. However, the lady was quick to add that she would not hesitate to do commercial films with good messages.

The award function also witnessed Saroja Devi receiving the lifetime achievement award. Others who were with the lifetime achievement award were Dilip Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. About 53 categories of awards were given away the President of India Pratibha Patil.
