Shaam’s movie runs into legal trouble
October 10, 2009

The release of Shaam’s Agam Puram is stayed by the Madras High Court over a legal dispute of non-payment of dues by the producer to the Madurai Kamaraj Memorial Medical and Educational Trust. A writ petition seeking action against the producer Gopalakrishnan for pending loans to the tune of Rs. 25 lakhs was earlier filed in the High Court by Ramachandran, a trustee.

After taking into consideration the complaint, the court has issued a stay order on the release. Agam Puram, with Shaam and Meenakshi, was supposed to be released for Diwali and it’s not quite obvious if the movie will be cleared from the legal wrangle and stick to its release date.
