Kamal Haasan revealed that he was
initially offered the lead role
in Quick Gun Murugan, but he declined
the same as it was not a novel concept
in South India. The actor said that
though some scripts are good or
excellent they simply do not translate
into a movie due to poor market
demands. Kamal said that he regrets
such situations as he could not
make films that are close to his
heart.
He was quoted as saying, “I
would rate that as one of the biggest
regrets of my life. Over the years,
I have liked many scripts but they
just couldn’t materialize
into films. I feel sad that many
times I couldn’t do films
due to market demands; there were
scripts begging to be made. I think
not doing those good scripts amounts
to infanticide.”
