As
if the existing competition is not enough
for the Tamil TV channels to cope with,
Zee Television Network's Tamil channel
will start functioning from Sunday,
October 12 to add to the heat. Titled
Zee Tamil, this will be Zee TV's attempt
to tap business potential in the regional
markets. Zee already has its presence
in the
Kannada and Telugu television markets.
With an array of impressive sitcoms, including
the K. Balachandar directed soaps and the
Kushboo-starrer daily soaps, and a bunch of
movie telecast rights, Zee is attempting to
suffocate the Tamil viewers with its content.
It could also be noted that the rights of
Naan Kadavul were acquired by Zee TV recently.
