The
ban imposed on smoking in public places
by the Health Minister Dr. Anbumani
Ramadoss starting from October 2nd has
evoked mixed response from the public.
Meanwhile, the minister has made it
clear that it will be applicable to
actors too. According to Dr. Anbumani,
actors found smoking during shooting
in public places will
also
attract a fine of Rs. 200. Reacting to the
ban, Shah Rukh Khan welcomed the decision
but insisted on a total prohibition and stricter
punishment. He added that he would try not
to smoke in public.
Earlier many film personalities strongly condemned
the minister for
focusing on this issue and advised him to
concentrate on more important issues.
