Noted
actor and stage artist Poornam Vishwanathan
passed away in Chennai today after a
brief illness. The actor, who was identified
with many character roles in Tamil movies,
breathed his last in the Apollo Hospitals
around 3.00 p.m. where he was admitted
by his family.
Poornam essayed numerous roles
in
Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu movies
and was adored for his unique dialogue delivery
and style of speech. He was a news reader
in the All India Radio and holds the credit
of announcing the news of Indian Independence
to the people of Chennai.
Poornam’s final rites are planned for
tomorrow after the film industry has paid
respects.
