Although Yogi is all set to release
tomorrow, November 27, 2009, it
seems like there’s still some
unfinished business for Ameer to
take care of. Producer Gnanavelrajan
has filed a petition in the Chennai
high court today seeking to halt
the movie’s release.
The petition states that Ameer,
who was sold the Madurai, Tiruchi
and Coimbatore distribution rights
of Paruthiveeran had not paid his
dues to the tune of Rs. 1.55 crores.
The petition goes on to claim that
Ameer had made profits out of the
transaction since Paruthiveeran
was successful and these finances
were also invested for the production
of Yogi.
The court is yet to recommend any
action on the petition.
