Devasena and son Sanjay have opened up on
such comments.
Rajini had mentioned in the meeting that
when Arunachalam was produced, he approached
Sridhar to be one of the producers since
the movie was his attempt to assist veterans
of Tamil cinema financially. According to
Rajini, Sridhar not only denied to be part
of the movie, but also asked for an employment.
On this remark, Sridhar's wife noted that
the director refused to be part of the venture
and asked Rajini if he could give him his
exclusive dates. "We were never in
a miserable position for my husband to seek
out employment," Devasena said. However,
Rajini needed time to think and the next
day, according to Devasena, she called up
the
actor's residence to confirm Sridhar's disinterest
to be part of the production crew. "It
is quite surprising to hear Rajini's speech,
however," she mentioned. "In place
of 12 cars in our portico during good old
days, we now have 2 cars. That is the only
difference I see," Devasena noted referring
to their financial status.
The family is also disturbed by the fact
that the now-famous Vikram did not leave
a message or visited the grieving Sridhars.
The family's disappointment has valid reasons.
Vikram marked his entry into Tamil cinema
with his debut in Sridhar's Thanduvitten
Ennai.
However, there are chances that Sridhar's
wife might have misunderstood what Rajini
had to say about the director.
