For weeks now there has been intense speculation about who will reprise Vidya Balan's National Award winning role based on Silk Smitha in the Dirty Picture. It was said that the makers were keen to cast Anushka in the coveted role. Now it appears that the role has gone to Nayanthara.
The buzz is that she has demanded a whopping amount for the role as it requires her to up the glam quotient to dizzying levels and even put on up to 12 kgs the way Vidya Balan had. The makers, Ekta Kapoor and her Balaji Films have agreed to her demands as she is popular in Tamil and Telugu and the remake will be released in both languages. The Dirty Picture was a massive hit and earned Vidya Balan comparisons to the three Khans.
