Famous playback singer, KS Chitra who lost her daughter, Nandana in a tragic drowning accident in Dubai has started the "Snehanandana Charitable Trust" in association with a Malayalam channel, ACV. The singer said there are a lot of singers and musicians who are unable to make ends meet when they become old and are reduced to a poverty stricken state where they are unable to get even basic necessities like food and medicines.
The aim of the Trust is to track down such individuals and help them get on their feet. Already two deserving beneficiaries have been found and they will be given Rs. 3000 as a monthly pension. Kerala Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the trust. This will be followed by some entertainment programmes provided by the leading playback singers. The show will be aired on ACV.
